  • Francesco d’Acapito possesses a three-decades long experience on the materials structural characterization via X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy as well as on synchrotron radiation instrumentation. He is presently employed with Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche as a Research Director nad he is the project leader of the LISA beamline. His scientific activity is focused on the study of atomic structures in materials, in particular on local order around dopants in semiconductors and glasses, carried out using the XAS technique and ab-initio structural simulation. He is author of about 250 papers on peer reviewed international journals. Contact: dacapito AT iom.cnr.it
  • Beata Bochentyn works as an Associate Professor in the Institute of Nanotechnology and Materials Engineering of the Gdańsk University of Technology, currently also the head of the Department of New Functional Materials for Energy Conversion. She has been involved in the synthesis and characterization of ceramic and amorphous materials for over 15 years. Her main scientific interests focus on synthesis and characterisation of new materials for electrochemical devices (e.g. fuel cells and electrolyzers) in real operating conditions. She is a co-author of nearly 40 publications in highly-ranked journals from the JCR list and approximately 150 other scientific publications and presentations. She managed three large research projects financed by the National Science Centre (Poland) and cooperated in ten other national and international scientific projects. Privately, she is a mother of three active boys and a fan of children’s football and basketball. Contact: beata.bochentyn AT pg.edu.pl
  • Pawel Korecki is employed as a professor at the Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Computer Science at Jagiellonian University, Kraków, Poland. He also coordinates Imaging and Microscopy Section of the National Synchrotron Radiation Center SOLARIS. He has been involved in the development of electron, gamma-ray and synchrotron radiation methods of 3D loacal atomic structure determination. His current research is focused on X-ray optics, imaging and microscopy. Recently he was responsible for the construction of POLYX beamline at SOLARIS for X-ray microimaging and mircospectroscopy.
